Update April 19, 2009

(Marquette, MI)

The Twelve Hours of Potluck mountain bike race returns to Marquette this summer. Veteran promoters, Jon Becker and Greg Potvin have teamed up under the Blindstoker Productions banner and partnered with the Noquemanon Trail Network to bring you the 2009 event. Sponsorships are still being finalized but, as of press time Classic Auto Collision, Plunkett Cooney, VIO, Portland Design Works, upmtb and Plum Creek Timber Co. are all on board.

The Potluck has grown exponentially since it started in July of 2000. From a dozen people out celebrating a birthday, the Potluck has expanded to include new trails and new friends. Last year the event had 136 entries including 20 youth and a couple riders over 65.

Sign up now – registration is only open to the first 200 riders.

Categories include Solo-freak & Team (male, female, co-ed, youth) and a six-hour option.

This year consider making it truly a potluck experience and bring a dish to share! Special awards for the best potluck dish.

The course features a 6 mile loop of several miles flat to rolling interspersed with a 1 mile sustained climb, 1 mile descent and 1 mile technical section. The course map is available on the website.

Come to ride, spectate and enjoy the camaraderie on some of the areas finest trails. Riders are welcome to bring tents/canopies for day use in the pit area. Interested in camping overnight? Rent a rustic cabin just off the course at Harlow Lake. There are only six available so don’t dally - Permits available through the MiDNR (2 nights/$65) 906.228.6561
